
In an effort to provide in the upper left a close up of the picture on the scroll, I really feel I've done this scene a disservice. Tsumadori-san tried to explain the meaning of the figures sweeping. As near as I can tell it was a sense of /sweeping always sweeping/ with the kind of busy work that is never really done. An old couple, a man and wife, carry broom and rake pause for a conversation. See more Pine
